FLIGHT INSTRUCTION
Now that fall is approaching it is time to start enjoying the great flying weather approaching. Remember to stay current, not only with required landings and takeoffs, but with keeping your crosswind landing skills sharp. IFR pilots should be thinking about adding a couple extra approaches to the logbook before late fall and winter. If you need some instruction call the FBO, our full-time instructor can help you meet your currency goals.

LOOK MA, NO HANDS!
About a month before Airventure 2009, Solverson Aviation was contacted by a sport pilot to rent Solverson’s Ercoupe and fly it to the largest air show on earth. This turned out to be no average aviator, but Jessica Cox (www.rightfooted.com), the famous sport pilot who was born without arms. Jessica brought to Reedsburg her special skills and amazed everyone with her flying ability (check her out on YouTube.com). Jessica brought a film crew who recorded the journey to Oshkosh for a future segment on The Learning Channel. As an added bonus, EAA graciously allowed Jessica to park our Coupe at AeroShell Square where approximately 1 million spectators were able to check them out. The recorded material will soon be on The Learning Channel. Jessica is a motivational speaker who lives in Tucson, AZ. Join the Solverson Aviation group on Facebook.com to see other pictures of Jessica at Reedsburg.
CHECK IT OUT
We encourage all pilots to check out what is going on with the aviation organizations in the state of Wisconsin. WATA, WAMA, WBAA are a couple acronyms you might recognize. These organizations have your interests as general aviation pilots in mind. Please take an active interest the organizations that are fighting for your right to fly!
Solverson Aviation has created a Facebook group page, so please look it up if you are a member.

If you are a member of AOPA check out the Air Safety Foundation courses at asf.org. The FAA also has many training courses to complete.
The former Longley’s Restaurant has reopened as Viking Family Restaurant. It is still across the street and location. This has been a very popular pilot destination throughout the years and continues to be a great breakfast and $100 hamburger joint.

AVIATION MEDICAL CERTIFICATES
Good news about aviation medicals, now if you are under forty, you only have to get a medical every five years. Also, if you received your medical in your late thirties and turn forty in less than five years, you still can go the whole five without getting another medical. For all of you under forty, this should save you some $. Unfortunately, if you are forty or older, you still need a medical every two years. As for the flight instructors and commercial pilots, your requirements are the same. Check out www.flightphysical.com for related information on aviation medicals.
AVIATION ORGANIZATIONS & WEBSITES
Are you currently a member of an aviation organization? Looking for an aviation website that could be helpful? We encourage all pilots to check out what is going on with the aviation organizations in the state of Wisconsin. WATA, WAMA, WBAA are a couple acronyms you might recognize but know little about. The organizations have your interests as GA pilots in mind. Please take an active interest in the organizations that are fighting for your right to fly.

NEWS AROUND THE AIRPORT
PROJECTS The State BOA is approaching the conclusion of the hanger removal project (Star Charter Hanger) at Reedsburg. Once this hanger is removed the FAA can move ahead with placing a straight in GPS approach at C35 (hopefully by next summer). The project has moved very slowly but it looks like it will be completed before the end of the year. The state will also be studying the airport surfaces and making repairs in the asphalt sometime soon.
THANK YOU We would like to thank all of our customers for their continued support through the past 4 ½ years! We look forward to working with you in the near future! J
WELCOME We would like to welcome Richard Reinboldt to the field. Richard will be breaking ground on a new hanger in August. He will have hanger space available to any looking to rent.
